“Failing to plan is planning to fail.” It’s been said so many times, about so many topics, it couldn’t be more true when it comes to estate planning.

On this third day of estate planning awareness week, let’s take a look at some (in)famous case studies showing examples of ‘when things go bad’ in estate planning.

There are many examples of estate planning “fails” among the rich and famous. To name a few: Prince, Aretha Franklin, Chadwick Boseman, and Anne Heche.

While all these disputes are unique, they all have the same theme.

  • Unwanted public drama.
